How to use the page editor
Nearly everything on the newspaper templates is editable. To change the contents of a text block,
select the entire block with your mouse and either press your Delete key, or begin typing to immediately
overwrite the existing text.
You can perform basic text formatting using the follow key combinations while you have text selected:
Note that in some areas of the templates, formatting options may not be available e.g. headlines cannot have the bold formatting removed from them.
Once you are happy with your new text, use the Tab key to move the cursor to the next available text block or Shift+Tab to move to the previous block. You can also use these methods if you accidentally deselect a blank text block and are finding it difficult to reselect the area with your mouse.
Inserting or replacing images
Placeholder blocks are provided within the templates for you to use your own images. You should open a new browser window
(CTRL+N) and navigate to a site such as Google Images. Once you have located a
suitable image, right-click on the image and select Copy. Return to the template editor, right-click on the placeholder
where you wish to insert the image and select Paste.
If the image is too large for the placeholder, there may be some deformation of the template. You can correct this by 'grabbing' one of the eight handles around the image and dragging to resize and scale the image (you may need to select the image to make the handles available). Image quality will degrade if you begin with a small source image and try to make it a lot larger; in this case it may be worthwhile to seek a larger source image.
If you wish to use your own image, the procedure is basically the same. Open a new browser window, choose Open from the File menu, click the Browse button and locate the picture on your hard-drive. Once the picture is opened in the browser, right-click on it and Copy, then return to the template, right-click and Paste in the desired placeholder.
Note that images placed outside of the defined placeholders will be removed automatically when the current page is saved.
Printing Issues
You may find that, when printing, your page may include headers and footers, such as "Page 1 of 1" or a web address
that spoil the overall look of your work. To remove these follow the steps below:
